KATRINA RECOVERY TOURS AND MORE!
Rotarians from around the world helped to rebuild New Orleans and the
Mississippi Gulf Coast after the unprecedented damage caused by Hurricane
Katrina. In one of the many tours offered by BBC Destination Management,
you will be able to see where the levees broke and where Rotarians helped to
rebuild houses and other structures in the devastated area.
In addition, the HOC and BBC have created a number of local and regional tours before, during and after the Convention that are sure to entertain and inform you about the area. We are fortunate that 15% of the price of every tour ticket sold will go back to the HOC, providing even more future opportunities for Rotary service.
Before and After
Track the evolution of Blues music up the Mississippi from New Orleans to
Memphis; visit Cajun Country in southern and western Louisiana; visit the
Mississippi Gulf Coast to see the beaches, casinos and exquisite boutique
shops. The HOC and BBC have packaged many of these exclusive trips and
special tours during the Convention as well.
During
During the convention, there will many local tours that will provide you
with the special flavor of New Orleans. You'll be able to learn how to cook
local delicacies at the New Orleans School of Cooking, take a riverboat
cruise on the Creole Queen, ride a bike on the St. Tammany Trace along Lake
Pontchartrain, and experience firsthand the world of Mardi Gras at Mardi
Gras World.
These are just a sampling of what awaits you when you take one of the HOC tours conducted by BBC Destination Management.
And not to worry, none of these planned activities will conflict with any convention Plenary session.
See you there.
